Treats manifest themselves in many different forms, some come in the form of candies, some as blessings but some come neatly packaged in a jar. Such are my thoughts about ‘What A Girl Wants’ from Burst of Happyness. A soap free cleanser that my current dry and forever acne prone skin loves. Read on for a full review:

Burst of Happyness facial cleanser

What A Girl Wants is a facial cleanser that is made of fine Rhassoul Clay (widely known for its properties of softening and rebalancing skin), is perfect for people with acne prone skin. The cleanser also has some other amazing ingredients such as Jojoba Oil, Rose Petals, Tea Tree Oil and Lavender Essential Oil. Since most of these ingredients contain anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, this cleanser is music to the ears specially for those who suffer from frequent breakouts.

The product says that it is perfect for combination to oily skin, but currently my skin is as dry as it can be and I still love this cleanser. There is something about the formula that does not dry out my skin at all (in contrast to what you would expect from a clay cleanser or a clay based face pack). After a single wash my skin feels soft and taken care of.

What A Girl Wants comes packaged in a silver coloured tin. The right way to use it is to scoop out a little bit of the cleanser with clean, dry fingers or with a spatula and mixed with water. The cleanser turns into fine paste which can be smoothened out with fingers and applied (avoiding the eyes). But mind you, it has quite a strong scent, but one that does not linger on for more than 10 mins (not that I mind), and the skin feels smooth to touch, almost moisturised.

This cleanser can be used daily, but I use it on alternate days cause that is what I prefer. I let the paste do its magic for atleast 2-5 minutes before washing it off. But the important point to note here is that my skin was having acne trouble once again (thanks to using a particular moisturiser, which I shall review in my next post) but since using What A Girl Wants for the last 2 weeks, my skin has started clearing up. I see and feel a noticeable difference and hence recommend this cleanser to anyone suffers from breakouts. The cleaner also takes care of the dry patches on my face making my skin look healthy even in this dry cold weather.

What A Girl Wants is priced at Rs 380 for 100 grams (trust me that is a lot of product for the amount that you need to use).

Here is a quick ‘The Good and Not So Good’ about the product, a feature that I will be including in most of my review posts from now on.

What a girl wants pros and cons

My verdict: What A Girl Wants is an amazing soap free cleanser I believe people with all skin types can use and will love.  There is something so pure about this product that makes you feel good, plus it seems to be made with a lot of love; Shreya the owner of Burst of Happyness really knows what a girl wants!! It just takes a second to mix, I usually do it in the palm of my hand, simple and quick!

That is a very intresting concept for a cleanser! Does the skin feel clean after using it, since we are so used to the traditional soap?

I understand, but the skin feels super clean with this, as if it has really been cleansed from within
