As I celebrate Durga Puja in Kolkata this year, I reflect back on the year I left behind. From last Durga Puja to this, so much has changed. I witnessed many ups and downs, but above all, there was one particular time when all I needed was courage; courage to see the situation and to face it, courage to accept what was about to come and courage to make a choice. And believe it or not during that time, I was blessed with so much of strength and endurance. So today, as I stand before the divine Goddess Durga, who is believed to be the ultimate expression of bravery and strength, or as we Hindus call her the ‘Shakti'; I bow my head and thank her. I thank her for the courage and the perseverance she blessed me with to face what I had to. But I have something to ask of her too, but before that, for those of you who are not familiar with the festival Durga Puja, let me briefly tell you what it is.
